who I am artefortuna

• la Mission di artefortuna •

Create cultural content and share it on the main social platforms to educate a wide audience on the ideals of art.

• la Vision di artefortuna •

Breaking down traditional methods of cultural communication, encouraging new generations to approach the world of art with curiosity and passion.

• Cos’è artefortuna?

artefortuna nasce inizialmente come una sorta di “box”, if we want to use a metaphor.

The characteristic that distinguishes me most is the curiosity: I travel a lot and I love discovering new places. More or less always, I have the habit of taking a lot of photos during my trips trips.

In July 2018, in view of an imminent departure for Greece, I asked myself: “what will happen to all these photos?”. I would have liked to share them and maybe talk about them with someone who had the same interests as me. And that's how I decided to open the Instagram profile of artefortuna, come un piccolo “portagioie” pieno di emozioni e ricordi.

Over time, I realized the communicative power of social media and decided to go beyond just sharing photos. I came out and started talking about what I'm most passionate about, since childhood: art, in all its forms. The target? Pass on this passion. Inspire the public to discover new things by visiting exhibitions, museums, galleries, foundations e, naturally, traveling.

Mi piace spesso modificare il detto “il lavoro nobilita l’uomo” in “culture ennobles man”. And this is what artefortuna does and will continue to do: share culture, so that everyone can benefit from it.

Curiosity: the name that I gave to this project, artefortuna, born from a I remember when I was a child and I listened to opera with grandmother Livia. Quando ascoltavamo la famosissima ariaLargo al factotum” of Rossini's The Barber of Seville, scambiavo le parole di Figaroa te fortuna non mancherà” per “art and luck it will not be missed“. I only discovered much later what the real sentence was. It's an anecdote that always makes me smile, pensare a nonna–che non c’è più–e ricordare l’arte.

• Chi è Giulia Pianelli?

I have a master's degree in Global Marketing and a three-year course in Economy for Cultural Heritage, achieved with full marks respectively at the University of Milan-Bicocca and the Ca University’ Foscari of Venice.

I have always dreamed of working in the art world, ma per motivi personali ho scelto la stradafacileinvece di quellagiusta” e, completed the three-year course, I threw myself headlong into the marketing, aware that he would guarantee me much better job opportunities–quanto meno nel breve termine–e così è stato.

I did various work experiences, including three abroad (twice in the Netherlands and once in Spain), in different sectors: from art to tourism, from education to mobile marketing. For about 5 years I worked as Marketing Project Manager for various companies and agencies; one of them is Bending Spoons, known in Italy for having developed the Immuni app.

In the last year and a half or so, I worked as Freelancer, dealing not only with mobile marketing, but also of Project Management In the cultural sector (more info on my professional website Art Management).
Having opened artefortuna allowed me to rientrare” in that network of museums, artists, galleries, exhibitions, press agencies from which I had been excluded due to my academic and work choices.

Trai miei” Māori all’Auckland Art Gallery Auckland Art

After two years of long distance relationship Italia – New Zeland con Lyle, my Aussie boyfriend, I decided to join him in the wonderful Auckland. The intent is to delve deeper into the culture Indigene, in particular Māori e Aboriginal, and their types of art possibly via a Ph.D (PhD). I often talk about it both on social media and here on blog. I currently work as Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Writing, an important contemporary art center in the heart of Auckland.

My secret dream is open an art gallery in which to exhibit artists First Nations, and I'm doing everything to make it happen.
